Description
Intake air temperature significantly affects engine output. High-temperature intake air can cause power loss and trigger the engine check light. To reduce hot air intake, the air cleaner position is moved away from the engine and enclosed within a cleaner box. (The battery is relocated to the rear.) Through prototyping of over 30 variations in suction pipe diameter and shape, the optimal layout was found to increase both power and torque across the entire rev range, from low to high RPM. This is an intake system that delivers powerful feel with good throttle response. The cleaner uses a dry-type (A'PEX Power Intake) that has minimal adverse effect on the airflow meter.
